What we've been up to

Aside from cleaning up after my husband, daughter and new puppy, I've had a ball the last few weeks!

Last night we took a carriage ride though the local Christmas light display with Princess E and her parents. All six of us piled into the carriage under a big Amish blanket (warm!) and off Curly, the black Percheron, went. (Yes, his siblings are Larry and Moe. Our driver, who also raises, trains and cares for the horses, must like the Three Stooges!) Gong zhu was beside herself looking at all the lights and, really, so were we! She also liked the horse a lot. I wonder if she's going to follow me in the paths of horsiness?

We also hung Christmas lights last weekend and made a ton of really excellent Christmas cookies. I think I'll be on a treadmill during gong zhu's gymnastics class at the Y this evening...oy!

Let's see...oh, we also went to a pancake breakfast with Santa last Sunday at the the local children's museum. There was one of those super-professional pancake flipper guys there-- he had the coolest gizmo that poured out four pancakes at a time, and did the whole griddle with around 36 pancakes in no time at all. AND he flipped the pancakes across the room now and then too.

Anyway, it's been an excellent holiday season so far. Click thumbnail below for more photos. Press "I" if you want to see the photo captions when the slideshow starts. [Thanks Mary Mia for the tip!)
