Moon cakes

Y'know, Sarah at Journey to Taiwan for Hannah Claire reminded me-- moon cake time has just passed. I have this to say about that.

When I bought some last year, the store clerk said "don't take these back because they smell spoiled; they're supposed to be that way."

And, suitably warned, I ate it anyway. Suffice it to say you should stick with the sweetened bean paste ones. THOSE are tasty! The other kind(s)? Taste at your own risk!

Well, you did your duty and tried a mooncake, as all good parents of Asian children should...

I do intend to try one, someday. :) That, and boba tea, and that horrid green stuff with the tapioca floaties in it. Sarah is so brave.

Hugs,
Rebecca
