I had a round of email today with an old friend also going through the Taiwanese adoption process. We were, in a roundabout way, talking about the merits of finding a child immediately as opposed to letting the process just unfold at its own pace.
While we both, I think, sympathize with parents who want their child YESTERDAY, I think we two, while eager, need time to acclimate ourselves. To change the paradigm in our heads.
We've both had one-child families for quite a while now. We're both moving towards two-child families. It's a really big deal. Huge shift in lifestyle, economics and outlook.
I guess, in a way, although our hearts are eager for our children to come home as soon as possible, we're simultaneously not in a hurry. Know what I mean?
