Holy Crow!

Okay, this is not what I expected at all.

Remember when I said that we had one previous adoption attempt via China which failed when my husband got laid off? Well, we got a 171H for that. And guess what? It's TRANSFERABLE. For the comparatively modest fee of $200. The 171 is good for 18 months AND the new law gives us one free extension.

Oh. My. God.

Most of our documents are already put together from the previous adoption attempt. Everything's notarized within an inch of its life.

Question is: Do we need a NEW homestudy? Does Taiwan require one?

I've fired off emails to the Taiwan groups and our agency. Am hoping for the best. Imagine if we don't need another home study...we'd be paper-pregnant before you know it.

Inquiring minds want to know.
