This and that

You're looking at our newest family member, Barsky, the poodle. I swear he's got eyes under there somewhere. :-)

I guess this is another thing adoptive mommies do while waiting to become a mother of two-- they become a mother of three! (Okay, three doggies, but still...) Potty training a new puppy should keep my hand in for potty training a new kiddo, right?

What else? I did manage to tread water while doing "jack tucks" and "cross-country skiis" while mostly submerged today in aqua aerobics-- a landmark accomplishment since I've usually sunk like a stone while trying this. When I laughingly told my instructor this fact, she made me do more of them. Lesson? Don't tell your instructor anything. Ever.

Thanksgiving was fantastic. We had tons of leftovers, just as I planned. I made tortilla soup with turkey, Thanksgiving sandwiches with turkey, stuffing and cranberry, and risotto with parmesan and turkey. And, of course, turkey (dark meat) plain, with salt. My favorite!

The last of the grape pie just disappeared into my lucky (albeit, now slightly larger) belly this evening. The crust was incredible, if I do say so myself. Found it on Epicurious and it rocked.

The husbie is in the other room playing Guitar Hero III. I think he's hoping I will overcome my complete wretchedness at this game and start playing with him since he now has two "guitars." Wii is more my speed. I absolutely rock on Rampage: Total Destruction. :-) Despite being able to play flute and thus, allegedly, being pretty dextrous, my fingers simply do NOT want to go where they're supposed to go on that *#@$% little guitar. Oh well.
