Family photo disaster!

Okay, do you ever get the feeling something was not meant to be? Well, I had one of those feelings this afternoon.

My dear friend L agreed to come take pix of our little family in our neighborhood park for our Christmas picture. The leaves were changing perfectly, the light was great. L took some awesome pictures. Then it poured. Out of nowhere. Virtually no clouds, no signs of rain, just BOOM. Kind of like those late afternoon showers in Florida, you know? We, in all our finery, were immediately drenched.

We ran back to our respective cars and left, happy with our photos.

Which, of course, were on the internal hard drive. We use a card reader since the USB is persnickety. So I look around for how to get photos off the internal drive, right? I download the user's manual, since I'm not sure where I filed mine.

And then the camera stopped recognizing the external 2 gig card!

And THEN I forgot that resetting the camera would also reformat the data on the camera-- voila! no more photos!!

I think I'm going to bed.
