I saw this on Fully Operational Battle Station, a blog I love to read. It's about a super product that's got peanut butter, powdered milk, vitamins and supplements in it being fed to starving children by Doctors Without Borders. Here's the link to the story.
Have you ever wanted to drop everything and go help? I sure felt like that today watching the story.
I get that this stuff has been around for a while (Voice of America had a story in 2005), but doesn't it break your heart that it doesn't get to all the kids who are starving?
But listen-- on the Doctor's without Borders (MSF - Medecins sans Frontiers) website, it says that armed gunmen have been attacking medical teams in central Niger where plumpy'nut is so desperately needed. Result? The Governor of the Agadez region asked MSF to stop operating in the area.
Breaks. My. Heart.

I didn't see this story. That is so depressing... like you, I wish I could just drop everything and go help somehow.
