You know you're really a parent when your social life largely revolves around getting your pre-school daughter together with other children. If you're lucky, the parents of those children are friends of yours. If not, well...you have NO social life.
Thankfully, Her Imperial Majesty, Princess O, finds our local kiddie pool to be a lot of fun. So I get to camp out with other stay-at-homes under a huge umbrella, lathered with SPF 3,075 sunscreen, and supervise the fun, along with an army of life guards. AND she's exhausted after a day at the local municipal kiddie pool/water park. (So THAT'S where my property taxes are going...ok, then.)
However, we also have to take her to b'day parties at places of unmentionable horror like...gasp!...Chuck E. Cheese!!! Oh...the humanity!
Now, why again did I work so hard in school?
