I just got this email from a new, dear friend of mine with whom I am going through the Taiwanese adoption process via email. We were talking about learning some Mandarin pre-travel and here's what she says:

How do you expect to get a new child without introducing yourself? Hi, my name is Stacey and I'm a shopper. Not just any shopper, but a sport shopper. I can stop any time I wish (although I confess that I haven't been to a Chico's in a while so have wasted many a $25 coupon) but I choose not to b/c, quite frankly, shopping keeps our global economy buzzing along. I am a humanitarian -- Step aside, Brangelina. I shop and I adopt!!
