Taiwanese official holidays

Public holidays in Taiwan

The government has recently introduced a new policy. Where a holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday the Monday or Friday is also declared a holiday to make a four-day weekend. The following Saturday is a work day to make up for the lost day. Public holidays in 2007
  • 1 January (Mon), New Year's Day
  • 17-23 February (Sat-Fri), Lunar New Year (make up day on Saturday 3 March)
  • 28 February (Wed), 228 Memorial Day
  • 5 April (Thu), Tomb Sweeping Festival
  • 6 April (Fri), additional holiday (make up day on Saturday 14 April)
  • 18 June (Mon), additional holiday (make up day on Saturday 23 June)
  • 19 June (Tue), Dragon Boat Festival
  • 24 September (Mon), additional holiday (make up day on Saturday 29 September)
  • 25 September (Tue), Mid-Autumn Festival
  • 10 October (Wed), Double Tenth National Day
